Upgrades to Hosting Services

In an ongoing effort to bring you the absolute best products and services, Ruut3 is excited to announce that we will be automatically upgrading all users' sites to the latest supported WordPress Core version based on their current PHP Version. This upgrade ensures compatibility with the latest plugins and themes aligned with your current PHP version, enhancing site speed, performance, and increased security.

What to expect?

Over the next few weeks, we will be updating your hosting account(s) to the latest support WordPress Core version. There might be a short service interruption during the upgrade. We will work hard to upgrade your site quickly with the most updated version of WordPress Core Version your website will support. 

Please note that we will not be upgrading any plugins or themes installed on your WordPress site as part of this update.

If we encounter any issues and are unable to upgrade your website, we will restore it to the existing working WordPress Core version to minimize disruption.

What actions do you need to take?

We recommend upgrading to the newest available version of WordPress Core already available on your current server along with the supported plugins and themes. Please refer to the supported WordPress Version of your current PHP by going through the below shared “Useful resources”

Important notes to consider before making any changes to your website and PHP version:

• Take necessary backups of all your files and databases for each website.
• If your website utilizes plugins or theme, it will be important you update them if available accordingly up to the version supported by the current WordPress and PHP version. Certain attributes of your website may not function properly on the newer version; this may include themes or plugins that are no longer supported by their developers. In this case, you will have to determine an alternative solution. 
• Proper website development knowledge is required when making these updates. We highly encourage that you consult with a developer who specializes in PHP/WordPress if you are uncomfortable making updates or do not have website development experience.
